Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. 8vo hardcover volume in brown embossed boards. Spine and boards tight with some wear to spine edges. End papers not split some names stamped in. First 16 pages have a water mark to top right corner. Rest of 320 pages are very good with no foxing.

Brown cloth with gilt letters on the spine and a vignette of two Hindu women in blind on the front cover. Wear to extremities with corners and some edges worn through, top and bottom of spine fraying with a tine piece missing at the top, gilt dulled, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. Everything about India--social life and customs--in the late nineteenth century, most all you might want to know.…
