Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 2nd Edition. The book itself has secure hinges and is not cocked. Previous owner's name and date on the first free endpage; the rest of the pages are clean, unmarked and undamaged except for some foxing on the top of the book (outer page edges). Exterior black cloth is spotless. Silver lettering on the spine is clean and bright. No bumped corners or rubbing to edges. One tiny nick to the bottom edge of the back cover. The dust jacket is only very lightly soiled but has extensive whitish rubbing. There is also a 4" tear in the spine of the jacket. There are many small chips and tears along top and bottom edges, the deepest of which is about 1". Book and dust jacket will be bubble-wrapped and carefully packed in a sturdy box to ensure safe transit.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Second Printing (so stated). 214 pages, including an index, literature cited and a glossary. Illustrations are both black & white and in color. Volume itself has black covers with sharp silver lettering on the spine. There is a brown stain at the bottom of the front outer edge of the pages. A couple of minor and lighter smaller spots near the top outer edge. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality Brodart cover. The dj has wear at the head and tail of the spine and along the spine. Dj is not price-clipped! There is wear on the front cover both above and below the pictorial orchid. There is age toning or sun tanning wear on the inside of the dj. All in all, a presentable copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed!
