Unbound. Condition: Near Fine. Autograph Letter Signed ("L. Caflin") dated 12 April 1869 from Dalles, [Oregon] to "Friend Haines". Two pages on both sides of one quarto leaf. Old folds from mailing, tiny chip in top margin, near fine. Coffin sends his friend "a package of papers & pictures" (which are not present here), along with "a bill [also not present] for the Quick Silver which is at the mill and belongs to me which I have got to pay, and Judge Willson says I can replevin it at the Mill as it has not been attached." Coffin asks Haines to send the Quick Silver on, and reveals the secret hiding places where they are stored at the Mill.
