About the controversy with Galileo he said: "The Church teaches us how to go to heaven not how the heavens go". The original Annales were in 12 volumes, this is the pocket edition published in Germany. He was a great histor…ian of the Church. Pp. (66), 127, (11); 153, (6); 236, (10); 308, (8); cm. 10 x 16. Four books in one volume, with a unique frontispiece. Original binding in parchment, a bit battered, with remains of the closing strings: title handwritten by hand. A good copy of a rare edition. This is the Second edition after the one published in Venice the year before. Ex Libris.
