Hier wird der großangelegte Versuch gemacht, das gesamte Spektrum der norddeutschen Literatur der Zeit zu erfassen, um deutlich zu machen, dass diese Landschaft dem übrigen Deutschland nicht nachsteht. Der gegenüber dem heutigen Sprachgebrauch sehr viel weitere Begriff 'Niedersachsen' erlaubte es, Hamburg in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen.- Teil 1 in zweiter, die Teile 2-4 in erster Ausgabe. 1738 erschienen noch die Teile 5 und 6, die aber wie der 4. Teil nicht mehr von Weichmann, sondern von J. P. Kohl herausgegeben wurden. Interessant auch durch die sprachtheoretischen und poetologischen Einleitungen, die jeden Teil vorangestellt wurde. Neben Weichmanns Verteidigung der deutschen Sprache sind auch Brockes' "Beurtheilung einiger Reim-Endungen, welche von etlichen Mund-Ahrten in Teutschland, absonderlich in Ober- und Nieder-Sachsen verschiedentlich gebraucht werde", Richeys "Allerhand zur Teutschen Sprache und Dicht-Kunst gehörige Anmerkungen" sowie "Einige zwischen Fabricius und Richey freundlich gewechselte Streit-Schriften über den Gebrauch und Mißbrauch in Sprachen etc.", schließlich "Zwo Anmerckungen aus den Actis der Teutsch-übenden Gesellschaft" abgedruckt.- ". the third of the three great Baroque anthologies .
