Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. Original printed wraps bound into hard cover with gilt lettering on spine, 32 pages, frontis, photo, map. Horner was one of the enlisted men who didn't have a horse and had to walk 318 miles to the Montana Territory. He was still unable to obtain a mount to accompany the 7th Cavalry while many of his friends did. He never saw them again. He was also served during the entire Nez Perce Campaign. Hart interviewed Horner in 1940 and this account gives additional information. Dustin 324, Luther mention, O'Keefe 274.
