Pp. 125 [3]. 8vo., [16 x 22 cms], original quarter black buckram over yellow buckram boards, blocked in silver with design of a Chinese mother and child, edges red, glacine wrapper. A very good copy, with only the usual very light darkening to the free endpapers. 'Frances Hume' was the pen name of Mary Buckland Wright who translated this book. With the wood engraved ex-libris W.J. Merson. Judging by his booklabel he was interested in birds, the theatre, books and gardening.…
