Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good+. First Thus. A virtual "who's who" of crime in the late 1800s, this is a fascinating look at a wide-array of 400 crimes & criminals prominent in the United States in 1866, a "rogue's gallery of sneaks, embezzlers, murderers, both male & female." In 433 pages with lots of black-and-white photos in the form of mugshots of criminals throughout. Orig. published in 1886, this is the First Printing of the 1969 reprint (First, thus). It is an EX-LIB copy with minimal stamps & markings in front matter, partially removed card pocket in rear, paper call # to spine. Large hardcover quarto has yellow cloth-covered boards lettered in black to spine. Condition is VG: generally quite clean, pages creamy white with age-appropriate tanning around edges, else unmarked. Spine appears reglued at title page, text block secure. The unclipped DJ has been taped to the book inside both back & front covers, & is VG+, having been protected under library mylar. Our photos depict the EXACT book you will receive from us--never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. SORRY: book is too heavy for expedited domestic or international shipping due to postage costs.
