This is the first German edition of Game Fishing by William Currie. It appeared only a year after the book's original appearance in Britain, and was intended by Verlag Paul Parey as a companion volume to their translation of Casting: A Textbook of Fishing Casts, by Terry Thomas. This had appeared in 1960 in the Angling Times Series, and in 1961 in German as Das Werfen von Rute and Rolle. A detailed look at fishing for trout, grayling, seatrout and salmon - mainly in Scotland. .

Pages toned and numerous chips, tears, and lacking corners. Additional dampstaining and a few loose pages throughout. Includes many trappings of its early owners, Walter and Lucy Brownley, including a lovely gifter's inscription and well-used family record pages (much of the notation made by someone with a clear flair for decorative penmanship), the receipt for the original purchase of the book, a clipping of hair, a badly faded 19th century photo of a baby, and several prayer cards, poems, and colorful clippings.
