Revised Edition of the 1953 First Edition title -"The Sacred Pipe" by Black Elk as told by Native American scholar Joseph Epes Brown. The book is bound in fine beige linen with title and authors in gilt on the spine. The corners are sharp and the binding…is square and tight. Endpapers in the color dark cinnamon. There is an inscription on the half title page in fine purple marker signed "Mystic Eagle". Otherwise, pages are clean, clear, smooth and unmarked. "mystically inspired" drawings throughout in color and black and white. The dust jacket is in very good condition with a .5" closed tear on the top of the spine panel and very light rubbing wear on the edges. It is unclipped with no original price indicated. Based upon the work of Black Elk ,a Lakota Sioux holy man, and Joseph Epes Brown, a native American scholar who lived with the Lakota Sioux for three years.106 pages. Please see all images.
