Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. Fourth edition. The cover is intact but there are a few small indented marks on the front with some creasing of the material in the bottom right corner. The whole book is knocked, and the front cover though not broken is somewhat loose. top and bottom of spine is tatty. All pages appear to be present.… xx, 528pp. On the back flyleaf some mild blue pencil scribbling which does not detract from the rest of the inside of the book which is in good order. This lovely book is a historical study of all things motoring and is the 28th in the Badminton Library series. The first edition in 1902 was quickly followed by several more and this is the fully revised fourth edition. This edition also has new chapters such as as ' Continental touring, ' and 'Lamps', and a series of illustrations of famous racing cars with a chart of racing speeds ( in 1903 in Bordeaux the maximum speed was 62.5mph). It is also up-to-date with mechanical, ignition and other practical details. The appendix also contains chapters on 'Racing and Trials' and ' The Motor Laws as they exist'. The glossary of terms is in English, French and German and the whole book is fully indexed. It is well illustrated in B/W , many are full page, most within the text. H.M. Brock, H.
