"Stagolee" (also known as Stackolee, Stagger Lee, and Stack-a-Lee) is an American folk song and tale about the true-life murder of Billy Lyons by "Stag"Lee Shelton, inSt. Louis, Missouri in 1895. This edition was published in 1975 at the Four Ducks Press in Wichita, Kansas, and was illustrated by Clark Britton. Bill Jackson (1917-2003), another illustrator affiliated with Wichita State University, produced the publication at his Four Ducks Press. "Stagolee" had a print run of 100 copies, and this is number 23 and is signed by both Britton and Jackson.
