Last print date is October 1944 per copy right page. with original copyright date of May 1937. This is a Ex-lib; has the usual stamps. As typical, DJ in a mylar that had been taped down to covers and has left tape marks on end papers and covers. DJ is colorful and complete but has wear and foxing on panels. See pictures. New mylar jacket added. Covers are a library cloth binding. Illustrated covers are colorful but soiled along edges. Shelf wear and rubbing to spine and board edges; tape remains on covers and inside end papers. Binding strong no loose signatures or missing pages. No writing or tears on Interior pages and pages are quite bright. Foxing and soiling to page edges. Classic Robert Lawson Black & white ink drawings profusely illustrate the written text. Book has light edge wear and spotting on inside gutter. Dust jacket has edge chipping with large chips missing at lower front corner and top of spine (now protected in archival jacket cover). Tiny crimp to spine crown, else fine in grey-beige composition binding with blue lettering and illustrative devices; in illustrated dust jacket that is age-toned, shows a few short edge tears, light edge wear and nicking, small chip to upper spine panel. Poems of "pure delight" for children, grouped in whimsical subject categories and illustrated with Ms. Bock's exquisite woodcut-style decorations.
