Softcover. Condition: Good. The outside pair of leaves of each issue are separated from each other down the spine. The issues have general light edge wear and a few small edge tears. Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 4to. Vol II nos 27-52. Saturday May 25 - November 16 1867. 26 consecutive weekly issues, each of 16 pages. Pp 416 with numerous woodcuts. Bottom corners of the first few issues are beginning to curl. Two leaves are loose and consequently have ragged edges, affecting the letters at the end of the lines on one leaf. Binding is battered contemp half black morocco, marbled bds. Sp has gone completely and bottom corners have broken off bds. Contents are a little fingered but generally in Good condition. A manuscript index has been added. These are original issues, not reprints. One of the first Penny Bloods for boys.
