The material in this book is drawn from three sources; an account of her childhood to Abraham Cahan who published them in the "Jewish Daily Forward" in instalments, from Oct. 23, 1904, to Jan. 18, 1905; description of her early prison experiences and later life to Ernest Poole, who published it in the "Outlook;" and her own correspondence of her experiences in Siberia. . 8vo., 348 pp., Rubbed, with frayed tips and cover stains; front hinge lightly shaken, gently cracked in several places .

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First printing. Moderate external wear, minor bumps, cover gilt remains reasonably bright, spine gilt rubbed/dulled though still legible. Pages lightly yellowed with occasional foxing or minor blemish. Binding firm. Pencil owner signature of Russia scholar Marshall Winokur.
