Very slight edgewear to covers, with bumping to the upper tips (and resultant creasing to the upper tips of a number of pages. Otherwise, a very good to near fine copy - clean, bright and unmarked. Uncommon; OCLC (No. 1468513693) locates only one copy at institutions worldwide - at the Horological Society of New York, in New York City. Note that this is a heavy and oversized book, so additional postage will be required for international or priority orders. ~SP11~ [3.5P] A historical reference book authored by Emmanuel Breguet (who now serves as the Vice President and Head of Patrimony at the Breguet watch company), a descendant of the pioneering aircraft designer Louis Charles Breguet. Published by Éditions Privat in 2018 (an English edition of the 2012 original), this hardcover work retraces the saga of the Breguet aviation company from its beginnings before World War I to its eventual merger with Dassault in 1971. The book explores the Breguet family's dual legacy in both horology and aeronautics, specifically focusing on how their aircraft shaped the French Air Force and civil aviation. Includes coverage of: * The development of reconnaissance aircraft like the Breguet XIV, which was crucial for Allied forces in WWI.
