First Edition. Used. Paperback; 7 1/2" x 10 1/2", 108pgs. Stiff blood-red wraps w/ embossed insignia and gilt lettering on front cover. Beautiful and uncommon photos of worldly places, and also includes a fair number of color lithographs. Also has info & pictures of the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. Wraps are chipped/flaked along edges, particularly along the spine. Some folding of edge on wraps where it overhangs the textblock, and some of the gilt lettering is worn (as expected). One 1" closed tear on back cover and one small white mark at tail of spine. Inside, picture pgs are curling inward lightly but there are very few creases and pgs are clean. Inside of back board is cracked along spine but still attached, some loosening of back pgs from spine head, otherwise are still held firm. Stored and shipped in protective plastic. Red pebbled cloth over boards; embossed title and designs stamped on front panel, some blind-stamped. Edge wear to the cloth; some stains on the front panel. Foxing to end-papers and to all edges. Text, maps, and photos are clear and clean. One of the prelims has a coupon for use after the war. The coupon plus twenty-five cents entitled the bearer to a 16-page supplement showing national boundaries as they were affected by the war and the peace treaties. The coupon makes this copy a rare item. The book weighs 4 1/4 lbs. Postage may be extra.
