Original Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Seventeenth Impression. Seventeenth printing from May 1944. First published in the UK in July 1942 with a corrected edition in September 1942. Originally published in the US by the Van Norstrand Company in 1942. Boards have light rubbing to the edges of the spine which has bright gilt lettering. Light rubbing and bumping to corners. The front panel has a light dent and a few raised bumps. Light surface wear to the rear panel. Browning to the page edges with a little dark marking to the bottom corners. Glasgow University prize label to the front free endpaper - the recipient was Derek Ingram, late Fellow of Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge. Endpapers browned but pages otherwise clean and unmarked. No jacket. Heavy item so there will be an additional postage charge for overseas orders.
