Soft cover. Condition: Fair. Heavy edgewear, but thankfully the music is clean and legible. Pianoforte score with lyrics. VERY HARD TO FIND in any condition. Cover photographs of those involved in the Thmoashefsky Naitonal Theatre. Joseph Rumshinsky (1881-1956) One of the great composers of Yiddish theater music. Born in Eastern Europe (Lithuania/Poland region), later moved to the United States. He composed music for dozens of Yiddish operettas and plays and brought a more sophisticated, operatic musical style to the genre.Boris Thomashefsky (1868-1939) A founding star and impresario of Yiddish theater in America. Born in what is now Ukraine, he emigrated to the U.S. and helped build the Yiddish stage in New York. Actor, singer, playwright, and producer , he helped popularize Yiddish theater on Second Avenue ("the Jewish Broadway").
