Dust jacket now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. 8vo. First published in the US in Liberty magazine and the in the UK in Cassell's Magazine in August 1930, this is this first appearance in book form of Kipling's Thy Servant a Dog, collected together with The Great Play Hunt and Toby Dog. The story is told by Boots, a black Aberdeen terrier similar to those owned by Kipling himself; Kipling is playfully credited as the editor of Boots' story, but in practice was the author.
