Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 10 original parts (complete set), text by C.E.Montague and with an introduction by General Sir Douglas Haig, each part with 20 lithograph plates, some tinted (200 in all), and accompanying text, original pictorial wrappers in matching dustwrappers (part X without dustwrapper), occasional foxing to margins, mostly to edges of dustwrappers, some minor fraying, generally in very good condition. Parts I-V comprise volume I and parts VI-X comprise volume II. Sir Muirhead Bone (1876-1953) was a Scottish etcher and watercolourist who became known for his depiction of industrial and architectural subjects and his work as a war artist in both the First and Second World Wars; he was appointed the first official British war artist in May 1916.
