Some ex-rental library stamps on the front pastedown endpaper, but this is all the library markings to the book. A tight sound reading / referencecopy in Good condition with some spinefading.

Finely printed and beautifully illustrated with small woodcuts. Cover faded, end papers yellowed and with small stamp. Still Very good, internally pages are clean and bright. Original jacket un-clipped, but chipped and worn with 1/2 of spine missing.

Published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1932 first edition. A good copy of this blue cloth hardback with scarce dustjacket. The dustjacket is rather grubby with toned spine and some small closed tears. Price clipped inside (via a torn corner). The cloth hardback also slightly faded around spine area and age toned to edges. With Jonathan Cape bookmark/postcard. Soundly bound - no endpaper splits. Some tone marks to first and last endpapers. Text is very good throughout - nice and clean, and includes lovely woodcuts by Freda Bone. She was the daughter of Sir David William Bone (1874-1959), a Scottish Commodore and author. 279pp + 1pp epilogue. Dimensions: Approximately 206mm high x 146mm wide x 30mm deep.
