(wiki) // Hartmut Böhm hat für die Lektüre der sieben Elemente des Tischstückes or-or eine Abfolge in Leserichtung von links (schwarzes Notebook) nach rechts d…efiniert, also "vom Dunklen, Schweren hin zum Hellen, Leichten" (H. B.). Der Auftakt links des Tischstückes liest sich zugleich wie ein Schlusspunkt: ein Apple MacBook Black (2006) eröffnet auf formaler Ebene ein Gespräch mit dem leeren Volumen einer Plastikbox und dem flachen schwarzen Behälter für Metallclips, auf inhaltlicher Ebene mit den Künstlernamen Man Ray und Ferdinand Kriwet und vor allem dem düsteren Titel eines aktuellen Ausstellungsprojekts in Berlin zur Kunst der Nazizeit, Die schwarzen Jahre. Das zweite Element des Tischstückes spricht mit Karl Gerstners Kompendium für Alphabeten den "Leser" der Skulptur an und leitet die Aufmerksamkeit weiterauf die 1966 von William E. Simmat herausgegebene Publikation Exakte Ästhetik - der Titel als solcher ist schon Programm für die Arbeitsweise von Hartmut Böhm. Die sechs Würfel des kleinen Bürosets auf Element drei der Skulptur verlinken meine Phantasie als Betrachterin umstandslos mit Stephane Mallarme's Langpoem Un coup de des jamais n'abo-lira le hasard (1897), auf Deutsch etwa: "Ein Wurf mit dem Würfel wird niemals den Zufall abschaffen". Im Sinne einer Wortpartiturfließen bei Mallarme die Zeilen in einem schein bar zufälligen Rhythmus über die Seite - eine Struktur, die unter dem gleichen Titel Marcel Broodthaers 1969 in ein Buchobjekt übersetzte, welches abstrakte Lineaturen auf transparenten Bildseiten schichtet. Beide Werke dürften durchaus eine wesentliche Anregung gewesen sein für System und Bildstruktur von Hartmut Böhms Tischstück or-or. Zeichen, Bild, Begriff und Kunstgeschichte gehen im vierten Element des Tischstückes einen offenen Dialog ein: eine Edition und eine Bodenskulptur von Hartmut Böhm, das Piktogramm einer "Halt" signalisierenden Hand, der Begriff "Revision" und der geprägte Titel des Buches minimum. Der britische Architekt John Pawson hat 1996 diesen visuellen Essay publiziert auf der Basis von Foto- und Bildserien, die entlang von Themen wie Maß, Licht, Struktur, Landschaft, Ordnung, Repetition, Volumen, Essenz organisiert sind. Die weitere Lesebewegung nach rechts spannt einen Bogen über die elektrische Schreibmaschine Brother AX-410, die Rückseite einer Hartmut Böhm gewidmeten Ausgabe des Kritischen Lexikons der Gegenwartskunst (1999) zu einem Josef Albers ankündigenden Ausstellungstitel des Jahres 2014 (Homage to the Square First & Last, Bottrop), um im rechten Element bei einem weißen Bildobjekt des Künstlers selbst anzukommen.
