Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. PICASSO THE FORMATIVE YEARS BY BLUNT & POOL 1962 NY GRAPHIC SOCIETY DJ. Quoting from the flap of the dust jacket: Among the may books on Picasso this is the first in English to examine his Barcelona background and the formative years as an artist between 1897 and 1905The authors Blunt and Pool.have made an unusual and original study.By comparing many of Picasso s pictures with those of other artists they have revealed many unexpected influences on his work as well as showing how he transformed particular examples into new and original creations of his own. I am very pleased to offer: Picasso-the Formative Years by Anthony Blunt and Phoebe Pool. This large hard cover book (9 ĵ x 12 ĵ inches 32 pages plus 173 illustrations) was published by the New York Graphic Society dated 1962 with no mention of any other editions. The book is bound in tan buckram with black titles on cover and spine and protected by a glossy pictorial dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is a fair amount of light edge wear to the dust jacket especially along the top edge and some minor separation of the outer glossy layer for the dust jacket. The hard covers are clean and bright and the titles especially on the spine quite handsome. Inside a former owner has left his small but inked name on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages and many plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
