Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Printed in Great Britain. First Printing. [Date from the copyright page.] Preface, Detailed Contents, Summary of Illustrations, Appendix, Glossary and Index; xvi, 282 pages. Numerous line illustrations. The attractive blue cloth is in excellent shape, tight and square, with a just a touch of rubbing to the gently bumped spine ends; gilt lettering on the spine is as bright as if just issued. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] The interior is creamy bright despite normal pale toning, a few freckles on the front free endpaper, and light penciling by my philosopher-father in the margins of several pages. Curiously, through the binder's fault, two leaves of the index appear out of sequence, but the index is complete. The original printed dust jacket is price-clipped and quite sunned, with several chips, now reinforced archivally. [Again, see images.] "The only book covering the ground common to these two sciences. It exposes the real fundaments of physics. While iconoclastic as regards current concepts, it is also remarkably constructive. A logical exposition of how exceptional physicists often anticipate advances in their science."---from the dust jacket. As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking.…

Add to basketHard Cover Cloth. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Second Edition, Revised and Amplified. Second Edition, Revised and Amplified. Detailed Table of Contents, List of Illustrations (29 Figures), Glossary, Table of Accepted Physical Constants, Table of Estimated Identic Constants, xvi, 243 pages; plus Appendices of 24 pages, dated after the book's publication. The red cloth shows a bit of rubbing at extremities, with two corners bumped; spine is slightly faded, with gilt lettering still legible. [Please see my 8 images of the actual book.] There is slight toning overall and a neat cut-out to the front free endpaper corner, probably from the excising of a signature. Two appendices (8 and 16 pages) have been set in at the back endpapers, leaving small marks from the staples; their last page is age-toned. Binding remains tight; pages crisp and clean. [Again, see images.] "The first sixteen chapters seem to the writer to constitute a thorough proof of the theory using a homely simile, the remaining chapters might be considered to be an attempt to solve the jig-saw puzzle of the physical universe. . . ."
