Inscribed on front free endpaper: 'Christopher | in memory of | Eleanor | & with all good | wishes - | Denys | Christmas | 1967'. Characteristic frontispiece by Ardizzone. A charming piece, in which Farjeon's friend Blakelock tracks down Elsie Puttick, the inspiration for the heroine of Farjeon's 'Elsie Piddock skips in her sleep'. From the Christopher Fry papers.
