1st edition. Hardcover. Mint in mint dustjacket, featuring artwork pattern by Peter Blake. Sir Peter Blake, one of the most eminent of modern British artists and often described as the father of Pop Art, has designed posters, labels, postcards, covers, calendars, book jackets and record sleeves, the most famous of which are his iconic cover for the Beatles' Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, and his cover for Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas? The two editors of this book, in the publisher's Design series, have assembled over 150 examples in colour of both Blake's fine art and his commercial art, and in their accompanying text they show how, at various stages of his career, Blake has embraced different art forms and processes, such as collages and ink-jet printing. The book is boldly signed by Sir Peter and the two editors, unique thus, with a wide variety of the artist's designs on show.
