Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Fair. Bill Bisset (b. 1939) is a Canadian poet, artist, and musician. He is particularly well known for his unconventional style, including the use of nonstandard orthography and images in his printed poetry, as well as accompanying sound effects in live performances of his poetry. He has published over…sixty books of poetry. This is a collection of his works called Fascist Court published by blew ointment press, founded by Bisset in 1964. This issue was limited to 500 copies of which this is number 363. This copy is in fair condition. The brown paper binding on the spine has been torn in places and there is some significant loss, and there is some staining to the front cover. Otherwise the binding is solid. There are a some pieces of paper that appear to be part of the original work, but that were not bound but just tucked in. In addition there is a typewritten letter headed Department of English from J. Reaney, likely James Crerar Reaney, who completed a PhD in English under Northrop Frye at the University of Toronto, and who taught at the Universities of Manitoba and Western, as well as himself being a poet, playwright, and author. The letter is dated January 19, 1971 and is advising other teachers in the department of a reading by Canadian poet Margaret Avison.
