This remarkable historical survey of English chairs is splendidly illustrated illustrated throughout with 84 b/w photographic reproductions and illustrations depicting various English chairs from the 15th to the 19th century. One of 500 copies of which this one is not numbered. Age wear on binding with heavy rubbing and soiling along edges and on covers. Head and tail of spine partly taped. Previous owner's stamp on inside of front cover (Earl Hart Miller). Moderate foxing throughout. Binding in overall poor to fair, interior in good to good+ condition.
