Sockpick Evans (1937-2021) helped to raise her 12 brothers & sisters in Shishmaref, attended the Day School through the 8th Grade, contracted tuberculosis during the epidemic and spent two years in the same sanatorium as Betty MacDonald, and was noted for her accomplished ivory carfvings, and traditional parkas, uspuks, and Eskimo dolls.
