Add to basketFirst and limited edition, number 289 of 300 copies issued. Presentation copy, inscribed by the photographer on the front cover of the title bifolium, "a Jeanine et Pierre, ces images de Paris et da Limousin, cordialement I. Bidermanas, 24-XII-1950". Les Yeux de L'Ame is Bidermanas's first published work. His popular Paris des r…êves, which followed a similar format of combining poetry and photography, was published later the same year. This work contains 16 photographs loosely inserted into folders printed with their accompanying poems, written by French poet Gaston Charlet. It is uncommon, with just one copy traced institutionally, and just four times at auction. Quarto (255 x 230 mm). 18 card bifolia. Text in French. With 16 plates laid in. Loose in the portfolio as issued, titles in black in ink manuscript to spine and in red and black to front cover of portfolio. Housed in the original cardboard slipcase. Short closed tear to foot of spine, nicks to spine ends, small puncture to centre of spine, titles to spine slightly faded; a very good copy in the slipcase with slight creasing to spine.
