Hardcover. Condition: Good. 2nd Edition. First reprint of the 1564 edition; scarce. Bound in the publisher's worn blind stamped cloth, with discolouration and damp staining to the boards and spine. The spine ends are chipped and worn, with significant loss to the head of the spine; the corners are bumped with slight losses. The hinges are tired and tender, held by the cords at the front hinge. There is water staining to the endpapers. The binding is a little tender throughout, pages with occasional pencil marks to margins, and a few water marks. Complete with engraved frontispiece portrait of Coverdale, and 8pp publisher's advertisements bound to rear. An uncommon 19th century reprint of Coverdale's collection.
