Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Sir Joseph Carruthers was a member of the NSW Parliament for 45 years and premier from 1904 to 1907. Many of his reforms are so ingrained in our daily life that today's citizens take them for granted. He was a champion of the Australian worker, an early environmentalist, pioneer of the P…an Pacific Movement, and a supporter of the White Australia Policy, but his most enduring accomplishment was his role in Federation. Sir Joseph Carruthers did much to shape the Australia we know today. The book is signed to a previous owner. Signed by Author(s).
