      Hardcover. Condition: Very Good -. 215pp. Quarto [25cm]. Green cloth over boards, with title stamped in gilt on spine. Top edge gilt. Edges a bit bumped. Spine ends mildly scuffed. Ex-library with markings, including a bookplate on the front pastedown and check-out sheet affixed to rear endpapers. An attractive, late 19th century edition of Walton's classic text.

      Hard Cover. Sixth Bethune Edition. Number 9 in an edition Limited to 100 Large Paper copies. Quarto, pp., [2], [i-iv], v-cxxi, [cxiii], [1]-294; Volume II [2], i-iv, v-xxxii, [1]-215. Illustrated: frontispiece portraits of Walton & Cotton with tissue guards, 2 engraved scenes, facsimile of 1653 title page, 4 large woodcuts, 19 woodcuts of fish etc and 5 pages of music. Wants the Bethune portrait noted in Coigney. Contemporary dark green half-morocco by Roach & Co. of New York with 3 raised bands, gilt titles to spine and fish motifs to compartments, gilt fillets and light green cloth covered boards; top edge gilt; marbled endpapers. Leather scuffed with wear at spine tips and corners. Scattered light foxing; chip to margin p. 55/6 Vol 1 (text unaffected) and 2cm tear at fore-edge of rfep Vol II. A very good set. Revised issue of the earliest Bethune editions, which were the very first editions of the "Angler" published in America, with additions and corrections; issued in two volumes with new title-page for each and including the name of the editor for the first time. The highly regarded Bethune edition is sought after, and this is a handsome example of the numbered large paper copy.
