Map
Large decorative map of Liverpool and its environs (136 x 179.5 cm) engraved by J. Dower after J. Bennison with full original hand-colour, dissected into 64 sections and laid onto cloth, folding between orange moiré cloth covers into contemporary brown morocco slipcase decorated in blind and gilt. With a key listing churches, dissenters chapels (Scotch, Unitarian, Baptist, Independents, New Jerusalem, Methodists, Sandemanians, Jews, Catholics), public buildings, charities, places of public amusement, news rooms and libraries. Embellished with calligraphic cartouche and compass rose. Some trivial offsetting and spotting, generally an excellent example.

Dower, Pentonville, london and made up of four linen backed folding sections, each in 16 parts and each measuring 90.5 x 65 cms (making a total of 181x130 Cms; 71 1/4 x 51 Inches). Housed in a cloth slipcase with Morocco label. Size: 71 1/4 X 51 Inches (181 X 130 Cms.).
