    Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Octavo. 12 monthly issues in one volume: (January-December, 1850). Illustrated with engraved plates (several of which are hand colored), tinted and color lithographic plates, and printed music. Binder's ticket on front pastedown: "Bound by Benjamin Olds, Bookseller & Stationer Newark, N.J." Bound by Olds in full morocco over boards, both covers have the same design stamped in blind and gold with gilt turn-ins, gilt decorated spine, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Owner's name: "Sarah L. Gardner" stamped in gold on front cover. The leather boards are worn and scuffed with cracking to the spine, lacking front free endpaper, bottom right corner of two front fly leaves are torn away, and small stain to front and back endpapers at the gutter, else good overall with toning and scattered foxing. A worn but still a good representative example of Godey's popular woman's magazine in a unique binding designed by Benjamin Olds. In addition to lavish illustrations and fashion plates, this volume edited by Sarah Hale features articles on women's education and women's rights. *Spawn & Kinsella*, 127.

The binding is worn and scuffed, lacking front free endpaper, heavy scattered foxing, fair only; with all three contributions by Poe in very good condition. A well-perused example of Godey's popular woman's magazine in a fine binding by Benjamin Olds.
