The Massachusetts Tercentenary Commission (1630-1930) presented this panorama of Massachusetts historical houses, portraits and cultural artifacts including domestic furniture and silver, accompanied by brief biographies. Many black and white photographs are reproduced, a number of them credited to Wallace Nutting, (1861-1941) the Massachusetts minister, antiquarian and photographer who published many books on colonial life in the Bay State.
