This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The study examined the use of Computer-Based Instruction (CBI) in mathematics, to find out if the Computer-Based Instruction has any comparative advantage over the usual traditional classroom teacher presentation in terms of students achievement in Mathematics. What actually encouraged this study was that, even though the learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the use of its tools have been incorporated into the curriculum of the basic and second cycle institutions in Ghana to enhance teaching and learning, it is mostly the ICT teachers who use these tools in their lesson presentations. The other subject teachers continue to use the old conventional or traditional chalk-board presentation. The study had a population of 80 students from the two different schools forming two groups; experimental and control. The experimental group used the course ware while the control went through the conventional teacher presentation. The quasi-experimental design was used for the study. The study was about the accuracy of AutoCAD generated marking schemes over the traditional way of using annotated sketches to help assess students technical drawing scripts and the perceptions technical drawing teachers have in the use of AutoCAD application programs in their test administration in schools. The target population for this study was all the 57 technical drawing teachers in the Cape Coast Metropolis according to the Metropolitan Education Office. Out of this number 50 of the teachers agreed to participate in this study. All the participants were second cycle teachers in the Cape Coast Metropolis in Central Region of Ghana. In the study, self-completion questionnaire and a study of students marked examination scripts were methods used in data collection. The study compared the student s achievements through two modes of instruction, the CAI and the traditional methods of instruction. Two schools which can be matched by intellectual capabilities and also had well equipped computer laboratories were assigned to the CAI and the Traditional groups. The study involved 59 students from two schools in Kumasi Metropolis. Twenty eight of the students formed the CAI group while 31formed the traditional group. The method used for the study was the quasi-experimental design. The groups received CAI and traditional instructions respectively, their level of achievements were measured by Pretest and Posttest achievement test. The data (pretest and posttest scores) obtained were analysed with Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The key findings of the experiment revealed that students of the CAI group using the CAI performed better than students of the traditional method of instruction group (Traditional group). 88 pp. Englisch.…
