    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. vii + 315 pages with appendix and indexes. The author, Edward Vedder, was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps who was a noted researcher on deficiency diseases and published a seminal book on the subject of Beri-Beri. The book was "Published by Permission of the Surgeon-General United States Army." Green hardcover with gold lettering in very good plus condition. The book has the stamp of St. Aloysius' Coolege Father's Library on the title page . It appears to be an unread copy. Scarce.
