The Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History Society (founded 1877) is one of England's oldest county archaeological societies. The series contains a remarkable body of original research and primary source material by many leading contemporary antiquaries, including W. G. D. Fletcher, Askew Roberts, Rev. W. A. Collated, complete. In a half calf binding with marbled paper boards.Externally, smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, resulting in minor loss to calf and paper. Slight rubbing to boards with one or two light scuff marks. Slight discolouration to spines, more so to spines of the second series. Internally, firmly bound. The fifth plate in Vol III of the second series and the first plate in Vol IV of the first are fully detached, but present. Pages bright and clean with one or two light spots and handling marks to first and last few leaves. Very slight soiling to first and last few leaves of volume XI. Slight marking to the gutter of the plate facing pp. 326 on Vol I of the second series, not affecting the image. Very Good. None Stated (illustrator). book.
