The front cover bears the title and author's name in dark brown lettering, together with the Frederick Warne publisher's imprint. Internally, the volume contains Beatrix Potter's delightful original colour illustrations, including the charming scene of Peter Rabbit tucked into bed following his adventures in Mr McGregor's garden. Of particular appeal are the beautifully illustrated endpapers featuring characters from Potter's other stories, including Benjamin Bunny, Squirrel Nutkin, Tom Kitten, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and the Flopsy Bunnies, surrounded by delicate decorative scrollwork.
