These issues contain advertising, fold-out type specimens, news and reviews of the printing trade, etc. Also some interesting comments about the rise of Hitler in Germany, e. g. ".Tyrants always begin by persecuting the printers." Several of these issues are imprinted in red with the beautiful calligraphic signature of B. L. [Beatrice Lamberton] Warde (1900 -1969). Warde was marketing manager for the British Monotype Corporation from 1929 until her retirement in 1960. Warde authored the classic, THE CRYSTAL GOBLET: SIXTEEN ESSAYS ON TYPOGRAPHY.
