Volume one only of this survey of the Civil War, focusing on the actions of the soldier, discussing battles like Bull Run, Antietam, and many others, as well as profiling notable soldiers like California Joe and others. FAIR/GOOD condition. Ex-library. No exterior markings, but some stamping, markings and makeshift paper pocket in the rear. Moderate to heavy uneven fading to the covers. Minor scuffing and soiling. Heavy scuffing, splitting, tearing and chipping to the cloth along the edges and spine tips. Interior hinges cracked and weak. Front endpaper DETACHED and worn along the edges. Rest of the text block is solid, with minor toning.
