Cellini is one of the most important artists of Mannerism, and is remembered for his skill in making pieces such as the Cellini Salt Cellar and Perseus with the Head of Medusa, both reproduced in this book. This work is splendidly illustrated throughout with 16 eaux-fortes by Paul le Rat, one by Baudran, 25 heliogravures by Dujardin, 4 by Lemercier, 40 b/w illustrations by Kreutzberger, and 2 woodcuts by Peulot.
