Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Comb-bound volumes have the usual ex-library markings. Covers of both are lightly creased and edgeworn. Felt marker library deletions on inside front cover have bled through to the outside. Volume 1 was published in 1981, and has 138 pp. with several dozen B/W illustrations. It contains information on 3,600 catalogued prints from1959, and five regions: Arctic Quebec, Baker Lake, Cape Dorset, Holman Island, Pangnirtung. Volume 2 was published in 1990, and has 334 pp. It includes additions/corrections to volume 1, as well as an expansion of information (5,000 instead of 3,600 prints dating now from 1957 rather than 1959). "Besides the new collections which have been issued since 1981, the additions include printer attributions and print-related biographies. There is also considerable information, especially in the footnotes, which the casual user might find unnecessarily detailed. This information was very specifically and determinedly sought. It is a way to preserve and record many bits and pieces of commentary and observation, often by the participating artists and printers, which make up the mosaic of the phenomenon which is Canadian Inuit printmaking. - Editor's Note.
