The book has been bound by a burgundy ribbon (worn but sure). The covers have some tanning, some wear, some marks. They are benign and sure. The contents are a little aged. No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Cream-coloured card folded to produce eight sides of 19 x 25cm. No year supplied but, of the 31 works itemised, the first ("The long yellow grass" priced at 75 guineas), when sold at Bonhams for 60 000 pounds in 2009, was reported as having been acquired in 1951 at Galerie Vincent by an attache to the US Embassy in Pretoria. Bonhams also stated that the work was exhibited at the 1950 Venice Biennale and this is in accord with the exhibition brochure (see image3). The brochure is unmarked and features a tipped-in colour print (see image2). Parallel English/Afrikaans text. An exceedingly scarce item.
