Inscribed and signed by the illustrator, Barry Root, on the title page. Laid in at front is short MLS from Root to a patron with original maili…ng envelope date May 31 2000. The note is written on fine drawing paper and features a small color drawing of the "Messenger." It hanks the recipient for sending along NY Magazine and NY Times reviews of the book; copies of both reviews laid in at front. Also included in the mailing envelope is a longer hand-written postcard from Kimberly Root; the postcard is a promotional pictorial card for the Kim Root illustrated book published in 1998 by Putnams, Bronco Busters. An additional hand written note signed appears to refer to original art work for the book, almost certainlypurchased by the prior owner of the book. Bright tight and fresh copy in immacualte dust jacket. NF/NF; Signed by Illustrator. Root, Barry (illustrator).
