Perhaps unknown to his literary audience, a few years after the death of Lovecraft, Barlow shifted gears to become a pioneering expert on Mexican Indian pictorial manuscripts, serving for a time as the head of the Anthropology Dept. at Mexico City College. He was also a chief editor of the the ethnohistory volumes of the mandarin _Handbook of Middle American Indians_. Ships fast with tracking.
