A non-fictional account taken from journals the two trappers kept during… their winter in the northwest corner of Maine. In the authors' words, the book "will give an account of the scheme which worked to the preservation of the fish and game north of the Rangeley Lakes; also how we roughed it in order to learn from the mighty forest." This copy is in VG+ condition with slight rubbing to spine ends, bright gilt titles & cover decoration, internally clean with plates clear & bright. Bearing a period presentation to noted book collector Cortland F. Bishop from Arthur H. Curtis on the front free endpaper. A very nice copy of an uncommon Maine woods book.
