    Pamphlet. Condition: Very Good. A four-sheet pamphlet with card covers (8 1/2 in. x 7 in.) listing passengers leaving Baltimore Maryland on Wednesday, May 8, 1935, then stopping in Norfolk, Virginia the following day (May 9th), then sailing on to Havre, France and Hamburg, Germany. Commanding Officer was Lieutenant Joseph E. Lee, carrying about 63 passengers. In the world of collectable ephemera, passenger lists are not particularly uncommon, but we've never seen one quite like this. Whether to simply be able to remember the names of the passengers, or else in some way make commentary as to their dress or habits, the owner of this copy of the passenger list jotted down aids to memory for more than half the passengers, a number of which are rather humorous. Examples include: "Deaf Pomeranian"; Hungarian -- Sick; Yale Stories; Caustic and Frank; Looked Awful with Cuts; Dark and Fond of Bubbly; Gipsy Earrings; Very White and Old; Going to Madrid as Secretary and Commercial Attache; Red-Headed Pied Piper; He Smiles with Teeth. Inside of rear cover is a map of the Northeastern U.S. with embarcation point of Baltimore in overlarge letters (larger than New York1), and debarcation points also in large font lettering. Below the map on rear cover is a "Memorandum Of Log" "spreadsheet", with fields for Date, Latitude, Longitude, Distance, and Remarks, all blank, i.e., unfilled-out.…
